Fitness & Me
Hi! My name is Krista Clatterbuck and I have lived in MN for 28 years. I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and fitness has always been a part of my life. I was a dancer, gymnast, cheerleader and have done all the different kinds of workout classes out there. But, I often found it impossible to find a workout class that would fit into my schedule. Thanks to my husband, Bob, I discovered my love for running. Running was great because I could do my runs on my schedule and also while traveling. Running has now been an integral part of my fitness routine for 26 years! I have completed 2 Twin Cities Marathons, the Minneapolis Half Marathon, Team Ortho and Twin Cities 10 Mile Runs, Run the Year 2017 & 2018, many fun runs &
Races for the Cure.
My Personal Testimony about the Benefits of Resistance/Core Training
Because of my love for running, I never wanted to miss a run to do a resistance/core training workout.
Since I have incorporated resistance training sessions into my fitness routine, my running endurance and pace has improved and resistance training is what helped me to place in many of those runs. And that's not all...resistance training has also helped me, in my 50s, to even lower my body fat percentage. It has been a great motivator to keep me consistent with my workouts and help me to love resistance/core train and running...even more!
Fitting in Fitness
Being a wife, mom, volunteer, business owner and just the busyness of every day life makes fitting in fitness an every day challenge. It is not always easy to do, but I "Just do it!" because I know I am a better mom, wife, daughter, friend and of course trainer when I take the time to take care of myself. If you find fitting in fitness a challenge for you too, together we will work together to find a way for you to "Just do it!" so fitness can become a part of your lifestyle too.
Fitness after an Injury
One morning, while out for a run, I was hit by a car. I was put thru all the stresses of having to recover from all of my injuries. Since that day, my life has been forever changed. I know what it is like when permanent injuries require you to adapt your lifestyle to accomodate physical limitations. I know through experience what it takes to adapt your fitness routine & lifestyle so you can accommodate the changes in your physical and emotional well-being. I am living proof that it can be done and consistency is key!
Nutrition
I am not a registered dietician, but I am a NASM Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist. I take every opportunity to educate myself on what it takes to eat healthy and I love to share what I learn. I also love to share my favorite recipes. These recipes use to be high-fat and high-calorie, but I have made them healthier ~ without losing the great taste and they are all family and friend tested approved!
